PARADISE BIRMINGHAM

Paradise is the £1.2bn transformation of the heart of Birmingham into a new world class destination for the city, creating new buildings, connections and public realm as well as jobs, skills and opportunities for the region.

MEPC has completed phase one of the development with One Chamberlain Square and Two Chamberlain Square overlooking the city’s most important civic space with its impressive Classical and Victorian architecture. Over 5,000 people are now working at Paradise with occupiers including PwC, DLA Piper, Knights, Mazars, Cazenove Capital and Atkins.

The latest building to complete in early 2023, the 280,000 sq ft One Centenary Way will be home to leading consultant in sustainable development, Arup, and Global financial firm Goldman Sachs.

Work is well underway on Octagon the first pure residential octagonal high rise building in the world, delivering 370 Build to Rent apartments.

Construction of the next office building, 189,000 sq ft Three Chamberlain Square will start in 2023. It will be one of the most sustainable commercial buildings located in the city centre and a first for Birmingham in terms of environmental standards, while offering a unique working setting for occupiers.

At almost 2 million square feet, Paradise is delivering up to ten new flagship buildings. The transformation of this part of the city has opened up important pedestrian links and delivered high quality public realm that creates not only a superb business address, but a revitalised piece of the city to be enjoyed by everyone.

Paradise is being brought forward through Paradise Circus Limited Partnership (PCLP), a private-public joint venture with Birmingham City Council. The private sector funding is managed by Federated Hermes, which partnered with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) on the first three buildings. MEPC is the development and asset manager.
