BRUNTWOOD

Established in 1976, Bruntwood is a business led by one purpose: Creating Thriving Cities. For more than forty years, everything we have achieved has been with this purpose in mind.

Firmly embedded in Birmingham for over 12 years, Bruntwood has more than 550,000 sq ft of commercial property in the city, with five locations, including the Innovation Birmingham Campus, Cornerblock, the Grade II listed Cornwall Buildings, the 20-storey Centre City building above New Street Station and the McLaren building. Combined, they offer 560,000 sq ft of workspace.

This year is particularly exciting for Bruntwood, with two new developments set to open, adding a further 250,000 sq ft to the portfolio. Enterprise Wharf, set to open in May, is the most exciting new build development currently available in the city. Smart, sustainable and set in landscaped canalside, this is a landmark building which will catalyse the redevelopment of the city’s Knowledge Quarter. Designed with tech, digital and innovation-based businesses in mind, Enterprise Wharf stretches the city centre eastwards; whilst in Q4, Birmingham Health Innovation Campus (BHIC) will open in Selly Oak, bringing a world-leading healthcare technologies hub to the city.

Offering high-quality, flexible lab and office space, the first phase will kickstart a 10-year masterplan which will provide up to 700,000 sq ft of state-of-the-art lab, office and incubation space acting as a catalyst for the growth of the Midlands’ life sciences sector. It is set to create over 10,000 new jobs and contribute £400m GVA to the regional economy by 2031.

The campus is being delivered through a long-term collaboration between the University of Birmingham, as landowner, and experienced investor-developers Bruntwood SciTech. It will become the only science park in the region dedicated to health and life sciences, sitting at the heart of a critical cluster of health excellence.
